Community Groups

Forty groups meeting in homes across Maplewood. Dinner tables, honest conversation, and people who notice when you are gone.

Overview

Overview

Sundays are where Fernbrook gathers. Groups are where Fernbrook lives. More than forty Community Groups meet in homes across Maplewood, sharing dinner, studying Sunday's passage, and carrying each other's weeks.
Groups are the first place meals get organized, moves get helped, and hospital waiting rooms get company. If you want to know whether this church is real, join a group for a month.

How do I join a Community Group?

How do I join a Community Group?

Check Community Groups on the Plan Your Visit form and Ruth will match you with a group near you within a week, usually one that shares your season of life. Try it for a month. If the fit is wrong, switching groups is normal and nobody is offended.

Do I have to talk or pray out loud in a group?

Do I have to talk or pray out loud in a group?

No. Plenty of people spend their first months in a group mostly listening, and that is completely fine. Nobody will call on you to read, share, or pray out loud. Come for the dinner and stay at whatever pace works.
